Who exactly is waiting in the wings?

Straying from fundraising, here is a fascinating New York Times article by Patrick Healy about dialogue prompters in theatre.

I have to say that dialogue prompters would not bother me at all. After all isn't one of the appeals of theatre the edge-of-your-seat awareness that these are real people playing out scenes before us -- real people with true traits, including the ability to forget something now and then.
